Food tenant fire at Gambir Station does not disrupt trains
The blaze was extinguished 18 minutes after being reported, and smoke briefly drifted toward track 1 as four fire trucks responded.
A fire broke out at a food tenant in the south area of the ground floor of Gambir Station, Central Jakarta, on Saturday night, but train services to and from the station continued normally. KAI Daop 1 Jakarta public relations manager Franoto Wibowo said the report came in at 20.37 WIB and the fire was extinguished at 20.55 WIB. KAI staff used a hydrant at the platform area on track 1 and track 4, and four fire trucks arrived at 20.48 WIB to assist with the response. Smoke briefly drifted toward track 1, but did not affect train operations. KAI Daop 1 Jakarta will evaluate the cause of the fire and review safety, emergency preparedness and oversight of facilities in the station's commercial area.
