Fire ravages Sade traditional village, 120-129 homes hit
Emergency aid has opened, including a Poltekpar Lombok field kitchen and Rp1 miliar in donations to rebuild the area.
A fire in Desa Adat Sade, Desa Rembitan, Kecamatan Pujut, Lombok Tengah, Nusa Tenggara Barat, destroyed around 120 to 129 traditional houses on Saturday (22/8) night and affected 320 residents. Lombok Tengah Regent Lalu Pathul Bahri said the dense settlement means recovery must be accompanied by stronger disaster-mitigation planning. Tourism Minister Widiyanti Putri Wardhana has put Poltekpar Lombok on standby to open a field kitchen and distribute other aid in coordination with Forkopimda. After the emergency phase, the central and regional governments are preparing reconstruction while preserving Sasak cultural values and the authenticity of Sade's traditional architecture. Other aid is also flowing in, including basic food supplies from Forum BUMN NTB and Rp1 billion in donations from Raffi Ahmad and other artists.
