Kazakhstan woman brings 1,079 kg of hashish from Thailand to Bali

The suitcase was handed to BNNP Bali after the passenger admitted receiving it a day before flying to Denpasar.

Ngurah Rai Customs seized 1.079 grams gross of Class I narcotics, a hashish type, carried by a woman with Kazakhstan citizenship from Thailand to Bali. The case was uncovered on Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2026, at about 14:30 WITA at the International Arrivals Terminal of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, when officers inspected passengers on Thai Lion Air SL258 on the Don Mueang-Denpasar route. Inside the suitcase, officers found a black plastic jar marked VENZEN containing a dark brown, soft solid suspected to contain Delta-9 Tetrahydrocannabinol, or hashish. Wawan Dharmawan, head of Ngurah Rai Customs, said the passenger told officers she was visiting Indonesia for the first time, planned a three-day holiday in Bali, and had received the suitcase on Aug. 3 from a friend of a college acquaintance. The suspect, the evidence and the case were then handed over to BNNP Bali.
