Katie Zacharia debuts at White House, ends briefing after 3 questions
What's new: In her 15-minute first briefing, Zacharia disclosed that Kimberly Guilfoyle had been asked to resign as US ambassador to Greece.
New White House press secretary Katie Zacharia made a brief debut at the podium on Oct. 13, taking questions from only three outlets before ending the session after about 15 minutes. Zacharia opened with a long recitation of what she described as President Donald Trump's achievements, then called on Breitbart, Fox News and the Daily Mail. She also broke news that Kimberly Guilfoyle had been asked to resign as US ambassador to Greece, a post already under scrutiny. Zacharia, 41, previously worked as a commentator on Fox News and Newsmax and advised Trump Media and Technology, the parent of Truth Social. She replaces Karoline Leavitt as Republicans head into difficult midterm elections.
