Kalimantan wildfire smoke reaches Jakarta, BMKG warns

BMKG recorded PM2.5 in Kemayoran at 67.5 µg/m3 on Friday afternoon, a level classified as unhealthy.

Smoke from forest and land fires in Kalimantan was detected reaching Jakarta on Friday (16/10), along with Banten and Jawa Barat. BMKG Secretary General Guswanto said Himawari 9 satellite imagery at 10.00 WIB showed the smoke spread had moved across those areas, although its surface impact still needs to be monitored. BMKG stressed that health risks are determined more by air quality and PM2.5 concentration than by smoke imagery alone. BMKG data at 12.00 WIB showed PM2.5 in Kemayoran reached 67.5 µg/m3, which is categorized as unhealthy. Residents were asked to limit outdoor activities and wear masks such as KN95, KF94, or N95 if they must go बाहर?
