Costs paid by farmers fell 0.25%, deeper than the 0.10% drop in selling prices, keeping purchasing power improving.
Badan Pusat Statistik recorded the national farmer exchange rate in July 2026 edged up to 127.84 from 127.65 in June. The 0.15% increase came as the price index paid by farmers fell 0.25%, deeper than the 0.10% drop in the price index received by farmers. BPS deputy Ateng Hartono said the improvement was supported by the food crops subsector, which rose 1.32%, smallholder estate crops, up 1.67%, and fisheries, up 1.01%. By contrast, horticulture fell the most, down 8.49%, and livestock weakened 0.57%. BPS said lower farm-gate prices were mainly driven by cabai rawit, bawang merah, tomatoes and cabai merah.
