Jokowi to Testify in Roy Suryo Trial, PN Jaktim Limits 80
Police are setting up three security rings as the Roy Suryo trial opens to the public, with screens outside the courtroom.
The 7th president of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, is scheduled to testify in a defamation case tied to allegations of a fake diploma involving Roy Suryo at the East Jakarta District Court on Thursday (5/11). The court opened the hearing to the public, but limited courtroom capacity to 80 people and prepared a broadcast in the outdoor area so visitors can still follow the proceedings. East Jakarta Metro Police have arranged overt and covert security in three rings, covering the courtroom, the courthouse grounds and the area outside the building. Police are also coordinating with Polda Metro Jaya and preparing support personnel from Brimob and Samapta. In a related case, prosecutors have also scheduled a hearing for Tifauzia Tyassuma, or Dokter Tifa, on the same day.
