Joe Taslim studies investigative journalists for The Furious role
The action film is set for Indonesian theaters on June 17, 2026, and also stars Yayan Ruhian.
Joe Taslim prepared for his role as an investigative journalist in the action film “The Furious” by watching documentaries on coverage of human trafficking in Southeast Asia. At a press conference in Jakarta on Friday, he said he did the research before filming in Bangkok, Thailand, to understand how investigative reporters work, often undercover and at high risk. In the film, Joe plays Navin, a journalist investigating a human trafficking syndicate while searching for his missing wife during an assignment. “The Furious” also stars Xie Miao as Wang Wei and Yayan Ruhian. As of June 5, the film was said to have a 100 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes and is scheduled to open in Indonesian theaters on June 17, 2026.
