Jerman President Visit Prompts 585 Officers on Jakarta Route
Road closures apply only while the motorcade passes from Halim to Medan Merdeka, then traffic will reopen.
Polda Metro Jaya has deployed 585 joint personnel to secure the state visit of German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier in Jakarta on Monday, June 15. Security begins at 08.00 WIB and includes escorts and temporary traffic control on a number of major roads. Routes under attention include Jalan Halim Perdanakusuma, MT Haryono, Gatot Subroto, Asia Afrika, Jenderal Sudirman, M.H. Thamrin, Medan Merdeka Barat, Medan Merdeka Utara, Garnisun Dalam, Prof. Dr. Satrio, and Perwira. Police said there will be no permanent road closures; streets will be shut only briefly as the motorcade passes, then reopened. Steinmeier is scheduled to be in Jakarta from morning until around 17.00 WIB for state activities that also include a meeting with President Prabowo Subianto.
