Kazuyoshi Miura scored his first competitive goal in nearly four years on Saturday, finding the net at age 59 as Fukushima United beat Iwaki Furukawa 7-0 in the Emperor's Cup. Miura struck in the 52nd minute to make it 5-0, converting a cutback after a run into the box before leaving the match shortly afterward. It was his first goal since November 2022, when he scored for Suzuka PG, now Atletico Suzuka. The former Japan striker, known as King Kazu, is playing his 41st professional season and has extended his loan from Yokohama FC through June 2027, setting up a 42nd season as he approaches 60.
