Ivan Toney trial over alleged London assault set for June 2028
What's next: The England striker was released on unconditional bail after pleading not guilty at Southwark Crown Court.
England striker Ivan Toney is due to face trial on June 12, 2028, over an alleged assault at a central London nightclub after entering a not guilty plea at Southwark Crown Court. Prosecutors allege Toney headbutted and punched Saber Da Silva during a confrontation at the 100 Wardour Street club in Soho on Dec. 6, 2025. Judge Christopher Hehir set a provisional trial date and apologized for the delay, citing pressure on the crown courts and a large backlog. Toney, 30, was released on unconditional bail after the brief hearing. The Metropolitan Police brought the charge in July. Toney plays for Al-Ahli and represented England at the 2026 World Cup.
