Istana denies early August reshuffle, Prabowo eyes 2 open posts

Istana denied reports that President Prabowo Subianto will reshuffle the Kabinet Merah Putih in early August 2026. State Secretary Minister Prasetyo Hadi said there is no plan for a reshuffle, and any change in the near term would only be to fill vacant posts. The two seats still unfilled are Deputy Agriculture Minister after Sudaryono became head of the National Nutrition Agency, and Deputy Immigration and Corrections Minister after Silmy Karim became a suspect in an alleged corruption case. Prasetyo also said the President has not discussed replacing any other cabinet officials. The statement was issued in response to reshuffle rumors circulating amid scrutiny of the government's performance.
