Israeli strikes in Gaza kill 8, including 5 police officers

What's new: The deaths came despite a year-old ceasefire that has stalled over Hamas disarmament and an Israeli troop pullback.

Israeli strikes killed at least eight people in Gaza on Nov. 1, including five police officers in western Khan Younis and three civilians in Gaza City, according to medics, hospitals and the Hamas-run interior ministry. Hospital officials said the Gaza City strike killed three people near Cairo School in Al-Rimal, including a 4-year-old boy. Israel's military said it carried out attacks on militants or military operatives in Khan Younis but did not immediately comment further on the Gaza City strike. The attacks hit despite a ceasefire that took effect a year ago but has failed to produce a broader deal on Hamas disarmament, the release of remaining hostages and an Israeli withdrawal from the territory.
