Israeli strikes in Gaza kill 6, including Al Jazeera cameraman

What's new: Israel accused cameraman Ahmed Wishah of being a Hamas sniper, a claim Al Jazeera rejected as baseless.

Israeli strikes across Gaza killed at least six people on Saturday, including Al Jazeera cameraman Ahmed Wishah and two children, Palestinian health officials and local hospitals said. One strike hit an apartment in Gaza City around 2 a.m., killing four family members, including sisters Zina, 4, and Lana, 14. Another strike hit a home in Bureij refugee camp, killing Wishah and two others, according to Al-Aqsa Hospital. The Israeli military said Wishah was killed in a "precise strike" and alleged he was a sniper in Hamas' military wing, but provided no evidence. Al Jazeera rejected the accusation and called it an attempt to justify targeting its staff. Gaza's Health Ministry says more than 1,000 Palestinians have been killed since the October ceasefire.
