Iran warns war could widen if Trump strikes again
The warning comes as tensions around the Strait of Hormuz persist despite a June memorandum of understanding between Washington and Tehran.
Iran's military warned that war could spread far beyond the current theater if U.S. President Donald Trump again launches attacks alongside Israel. Iranian Army spokesman Brigadier General Mohammad Akraminia wrote on X on Saturday that a new war would not end with Trump. He also said Iran's armed forces continue to raise combat readiness and monitor U.S. movements in the region. The warning came as Middle East tensions have not eased since U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran on 28 February 2026 triggered retaliation from Tehran. Although Washington and Tehran signed a memorandum of understanding in June, security disputes and shipping lanes in the Strait of Hormuz remain unresolved.
