Iran pauses operations after missiles hit Israel

Tehran warned that any Israeli attack on Iran or Lebanon, including southern Lebanon, would face a stronger response.

Iran said it has temporarily halted its military operations against Israel after missile strikes late Sunday and early Monday, which it described as a response to the April 8, 2026 ceasefire violation. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters said the strikes targeted military sites in northern Israel, including Nevatim and Tel Nof air bases. Tehran stressed the pause does not mean the threat has ended: if Israel attacks Iran or Lebanon again, including southern Lebanon, the response would be stronger and broader. In a statement received in Jakarta, the Embassy of Iran also accused the United States of sharing responsibility for the escalation because of its support for Israel's actions.
