Iran Claims Cruise Missile Hit Amazon Data Center in Bahrain

The attack was claimed as retaliation for U.S. strikes on Darkhovin plant sites and widened the target set to commercial assets.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on Tuesday claimed it hit an Amazon data center in Bahrain with cruise missiles. In a statement cited by Iranian media and Antara, the IRGC said the attack was launched in response to U.S. strikes on the Darkhovin nuclear power plant construction site and civilian areas there. The IRGC said the strike caused significant damage to Amazon's main data center infrastructure. The claim comes amid an escalation in the conflict after Tehran accused Washington of violating the ceasefire signed on 18 Juni 2026. The International Atomic Energy Agency, or IAEA, previously said it was investigating reports of strikes on Darkhovin and assessed the risk of radiological danger as low.
