Investor sues Selena Gomez and Wondermind for US$1.2 million

The federal suit in Delaware alleges a promised app was never built and investors received no reports for three years.

Five investors have sued Selena Gomez, her mother Mandy Teefey, Daniella Pierson, and mental health startup Wondermind in federal court in Delaware, seeking recovery of a US$1.2 million investment plus costs and damages. The investors accuse the company's founders of misrepresenting its infrastructure, leadership, ad partnerships and plans to build an app that they say never materialized. The suit also says the investors received no reports for three years and learned of Wondermind's financial condition only through media coverage. Wondermind was founded in November 2021 with a mental wellness concept. Through her lawyer, Mathew S. Rosengart, Gomez denied the fraud allegations and said the claims against her lack factual and legal merit.
