Inter, AC Milan plan €1.2 billion, 71,500-seat stadium for 2031

What's new: Generali will pay about €650 million for naming rights through 2052, in one of sports' richest stadium deals.

Inter Milan and AC Milan presented plans for a new 71,500-seat stadium that would replace San Siro from the 2031-32 season, with construction set to start in 2028 on the current site. The project, backed by Italian insurer Generali, is expected to cost about €1.2 billion and the venue will be called Generali Stadium. The clubs bought San Siro and nearby land for €197 million in 2025 and plan to demolish most of the current ground as work nears completion. Club executives say the new arena is central to boosting matchday, hospitality and commercial revenue. Some Inter supporters protested at the unveiling, chanting against the loss of the century-old stadium.
