Intel launches $15 billion share sale to fund AI chip expansion
What's new: The offering includes an extra $2.25 billion allotment option, and Intel shares fell more than 3% in premarket trading.
Intel is raising $15 billion in a common stock offering as it pours money into chip manufacturing and advanced packaging to meet surging artificial intelligence demand. The Santa Clara, California, company said the proceeds will support corporate needs including capital expenditures and working capital. The deal also gives underwriters a 30-day option to buy up to another $2.25 billion in shares. Intel shares fell more than 3% before the open as investors weighed dilution. The company lifted its 2026 capital spending forecast to $20 billion last month after reporting its fastest revenue growth in nearly 15 years and saying customer orders were running ahead of manufacturing capacity.
