July inflation at 2.88%, Mendagri warns regions on prices
From June to July, prices fell 0.14%, but several provinces still posted inflation above 3.5%, he said.
Indonesia's annual inflation in July 2026 was recorded at 2.88%, still within the government's target of 2.5% plus minus 1%. Home Affairs Minister Muhammad Tito Karnavian said the national price pace remained under control, and on a monthly basis from June to July there was 0.14% deflation. He urged regional administrations to stay alert because several areas posted inflation above 3.5%, including Papua Barat, Aceh, Papua Pegunungan, Kalimantan Tengah, and Papua Barat Daya. Tito said July's main inflation contributors came from transportation and education, while the food, beverage and tobacco group remained relatively stable. Commodities that continued to add pressure included chicken meat, red chilies, bird's eye chilies, and chicken eggs.
