Indonesian woman charged over S$736 theft at Changi T3

A 40-year-old Indonesian woman was charged in Singapore after two bottles of facial products worth S$736 were stolen from The Shilla Duty Free store in the transit area of Changi Airport Terminal 3. Singapore Police said the theft was reported on May 31 after a loss prevention officer reviewed CCTV footage and spotted the woman entering and leaving the store without making a purchase. Airport Police Division officers identified her through ground inquiries and CCTV images, then arrested her before she left the country. The stolen items were recovered. She was charged on June 11 with theft in dwelling under Section 380 of the Penal Code. If convicted, she faces up to seven years in prison, a fine, or both.
