Indonesian haze pushes Singapore AQI to 205, KL schools close

In Palangka Raya, the ISPU reached 414 on October 11, a hazardous level after haze lingered since late July.

Haze from forest and land fires in Indonesia has worsened air quality across Southeast Asia. On Friday, October 9, IQAir data showed Singapore's air quality index at 205, in the very unhealthy category. In Malaysia, several schools in the Kuala Lumpur area were closed because cross-border smoke continued to move with the wind, according to monitoring on Windy.com. Conditions in Palangka Raya, Central Kalimantan, have also not improved. ISPUnet monitoring on Sunday, October 11 at 18.00 WIB recorded an air pollution standard index of 414, a hazardous category. Haze in the city has lasted more than two months since late July, with residents still carrying on amid high pollution and limited visibility.
