Indonesia, Thailand target US$20 billion trade by 2030
The two countries also adopted a 2026-2030 roadmap and will create their first Joint Trade Commission to cut trade barriers.
Indonesia and Thailand are targeting bilateral trade of US$20 billion by 2030 during Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul's visit to Istana Merdeka, Jakarta, on Monday. President Prabowo Subianto said the goal will be pursued through the newly adopted Indonesia-Thailand Strategic Partnership Roadmap 2026-2030. The roadmap covers expanded investment, market access and partnerships between business players. The two sides also agreed to form a Joint Trade Commission, the first bilateral mechanism in Indonesia-Thailand relations, to open business opportunities and address trade barriers. Other areas of cooperation include food security, agricultural technology, logistics, food processing, energy forums, the digital economy and expanded local currency transactions.
