Indonesia’s APBN posts Rp196.5 trillion deficit in H1 2026
State revenue rose 21.4% to Rp1,459.4 trillion, while the primary balance still posted a Rp85.1 trillion surplus.
The APBN through the end of June 2026 recorded a deficit of Rp196.5 trillion, or 0.76% of gross domestic product. Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa said the fiscal position remained under control as state revenue grew more strongly amid higher spending on government programs. State revenue reached Rp1,459.4 trillion, up 21.4% from the same period last year. Tax revenue totaled Rp1,187.8 trillion, consisting of Rp1,035.7 trillion in taxes and Rp145 trillion from customs and excise. On the spending side, realization reached Rp1,656 trillion, with central government spending at Rp1,298.6 trillion and transfers to regions at Rp357.4 trillion. Despite the deficit, the primary balance still posted a surplus of Rp85.1 trillion.
