Indonesia targets UAE investment for food, Bali airport

Abu Dhabi Export is entering food security, while Abu Dhabi Ports is preparing a feasibility study for airport expansion in Bali.

The Indonesian government is seeking higher investment from the United Arab Emirates to strengthen national supply chains, food security and infrastructure. Coordinating Economic Minister Airlangga Hartarto said the commitment was discussed with UAE partners, including Louis Dreyfus Company, as the government pushes for investment that supports downstream processing and long-term growth. In the bilateral meeting, Abu Dhabi Export conveyed an investment commitment focused on national food security. In infrastructure, Abu Dhabi Ports said it was ready to support the development of an airport in Bali through a feasibility study. Indonesia also sees implementation of the I-UAE CEPA as a way to smooth trade and investment flows between the two countries. UAE Ambassador to Indonesia Abdulla Salem Al Dhaheri described Indonesia as an important UAE partner in Southeast Asia.
