Indonesia bank lending grows 11.51 percent in May 2026

The loan rebound followed April’s 9.98 percent pace, led by 21.95 percent investment lending and 13.47 percent DPK growth.

Bank lending in Indonesia grew 11.51 percent year on year in May 2026, up from 9.98 percent in April, marking a return to double-digit growth. Bank Indonesia Governor Perry Warjiyo said the increase was supported across all usage categories, led by investment loans that surged 21.95 percent. Working capital loans rose 8.09 percent, while consumer loans grew 5.89 percent. BI kept its 2026 credit growth forecast at 8-12 percent. The outlook was supported by undisbursed loans of Rp2.576 trillion, or 22.41 percent of available credit limits, liquidity reflected in an AL/DPK ratio of 24.74 percent, and 13.47 percent DPK growth. BI also noted that lending rates in May were 8.72 percent and 1-month deposit rates were 4.26 percent.
