Indonesia, Australia launch Katalis 2.0 for trade

The two countries have also begun reviewing IA-CEPA as goods trade rose from US$7,2 billion in 2020 to US$13 billion in 2025.

Indonesia and Australia launched Katalis 2.0 in Jakarta on Monday (13/7), a follow-on program to speed implementation of the Indonesia-Australia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, or IA-CEPA. The Australian government-funded program aims to strengthen two-way trade and investment through cooperation among governments, businesses and economic institutions. Deputy Trade Minister Dyah Roro Esti Widya Putri said the two countries had also begun reviewing IA-CEPA so it remains relevant to future economic needs. Since taking effect on July 5, 2020, Indonesia-Australia goods trade has grown an average 10,68 percent a year, from about US$7,2 billion in 2020 to about US$13 billion in 2025. Katalis 2.0 follows the 2021-2025 first phase, with a focus on market access, stronger institutions, workforce skills and sectors such as agrifood, health, digital services, tourism, advanced manufacturing and the green economy.
