Tens of thousands of students tried to march on India’s Parliament on Monday as a fast-growing protest movement over repeated exam paper leaks pressed for education reform and the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Police used tear gas and batons in Delhi, and thousands more returned to the streets in the following days. The Cockroach Janta Party, or CJP, has become one of India’s largest student mobilizations in years, fueled by anger that high-stakes public exams can no longer be trusted. Activist Sonam Wangchuk, a central figure in the campaign, ended a 26-day hunger strike late Thursday after saying he had lost 11 kilograms, but student leaders said demonstrations would continue.
