Immigration probes passports and hajj deposit slips in BSD Tangerang
Officers no longer found a stack of passports, but secured two passport covers and several hajj deposit slips.
Tangerang Immigration Office is investigating a viral video showing passports said to be scattered around the BSD Bus Stop on Jalan Letjen Sutopo, South Tangerang City. When officers from the Immigration Intelligence and Enforcement Division checked the location on Sunday night, June 7, 2026 at around 21:00 WIB, the stack of passports was no longer there. However, officers still found two passport covers separated from the biodata page and main page, as well as several documents in the form of hajj deposit slips. Hasanin, head of the Tangerang Class I Special Non-TPI Immigration Office, said the findings strengthened indications that the documents had once been at the site. Immigration is now checking passport numbers in the passport issuance system, tracing the owners and guarantors, and coordinating with relevant parties to identify the person suspected of discarding the documents.
