IHSG rises 1.07% to 6,321.96 ahead of BI, Fed decisions
Investors are also watching MSCI and FTSE Russell reviews, with BI expected to raise rates 25 basis points to 5.75%.
IHSG on the Indonesia Stock Exchange opened higher by 66.99 points, or 1.07 percent, to 6,321.96 on Wednesday morning, while the LQ45 index rose 0.87 percent to 630.14. The gain came as market participants stayed on the sidelines ahead of several key events, especially the interest-rate decisions from Bank Indonesia and the U.S. Federal Reserve. Kiwoom Sekuritas Head of Research Liza Camelia Suryanata said investors should watch the 6,300 level before adding positions because this week still carries the risk of swings from the BI RDG, MSCI Global Market Accessibility Review, and FTSE Russell rebalancing. The market also expects the BI Rate to rise 25 basis points to 5.75 percent. In global markets, attention is focused on the June 16-17 FOMC meeting and the hawkish stance of The Fed Chairman Kevin Warsh.
