ICE agent fatally shot 26-year-old Colombian man in Maine
What's new: Investigators said the agents had no body cameras, and the FBI and Maine authorities are examining the shooting.
A federal immigration agent fatally shot 26-year-old Colombian national Joan Sebastian Guerrero during an enforcement operation in Biddeford, Maine, on Monday, prompting protests and multiple investigations. Sen. Angus King said Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin told him Guerrero used his vehicle in a way the secretary described as having “weaponized” it. Maine's attorney general said early accounts indicate the driver was trying to flee toward an agent. King also said the ICE agents were not wearing body cameras. ABC reported Guerrero was not the intended target of the operation, which was tied to a final order of removal for another man. The FBI, the Maine attorney general's office and other agencies are investigating.
