Hull beat Coventry 1-0 as Millar keeps perfect start alive

What's next: Hull backed up a win over Manchester United, while Coventry stayed scoreless before trips against Manchester City and Brighton.

Hull City made it two wins from two to open their Premier League season, beating Coventry City 1-0 on Liam Millar’s 82nd-minute goal in Coventry’s first top-flight home game in more than 25 years. The promoted visitors followed last week’s upset of Manchester United with another victory to maintain a perfect start. Coventry had more of the play and created the better openings, with Taiwo Awoniyi testing Konstantinos Tzolakis, but Frank Lampard’s side again failed to score. Hull coach Sergej Jakirovic said the result would give his team confidence, while Lampard said Coventry were too slow in possession. Coventry now head to Manchester City before hosting Brighton.
