House sends bipartisan housing bill to Trump after 358-32 vote
What's next: Trump is scheduled to sign the measure Wednesday after the Senate cleared it 85-5, capping big investors at 350 homes.
The House voted 358-32 on Tuesday to pass a bipartisan affordable housing package and send it to President Donald Trump for his signature. The 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act cleared the Senate 85-5 on Monday after months of negotiations between the chambers. House Speaker Mike Johnson's office said Trump is set to sign it at the Capitol on Wednesday before a meeting with Senate Republicans. The bill aims to cut regulations to spur homebuilding and limit institutional investors to buying 350 single-family homes. The measure drew broad support in both parties, though some conservative Republicans objected because it did not include the SAVE America Act, a separate voter-ID and citizenship-verification proposal.
