Hery Susanto's first nickel corruption hearing set for June 24
Prosecutors accuse the former Ombudsman chief of receiving Rp1,5 miliar after issuing a correction that favored PT TSHI.
The Corruption Court at the Central Jakarta District Court has scheduled the first hearing for former Ombudsman chief Hery Susanto on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, in a case alleging corruption in nickel mining governance in Sulawesi Tenggara from 2013-2025. The case is registered under number 34/Pid.Sus-TPK/2026/PN Jkt. Pusat. The chief judge of the Central Jakarta District Court appointed Dwi Elyarahma Sulistyowati as presiding judge, with Fajar Kusuma Aji and Alfis Setyawan as members. The Attorney General's Office accuses Hery of issuing a correction letter on the amount of Non-Tax State Revenue from the Ministry of Forestry and directing PT Toshida Indonesia to calculate its own obligation. Prosecutors said the action benefited PT TSHI and was rewarded with Rp1,5 miliar in 2025. On June 8, the Ombudsman ethics panel dishonorably dismissed Hery.
