Health Minister: Bullying Is Top Complaint Among Doctors
The Health Ministry says pressure most often comes from fellow doctors, especially senior doctors toward younger doctors who move to new regions.
Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin said bullying is the complaint most often raised by doctors to the government. He delivered that finding during a working meeting with Commission IX of the House of Representatives at the Senayan parliamentary complex in Jakarta on Thursday (25/6/2026). According to Budi, pressure on doctors does not come only from patient demands or physical threats, but most often from the profession’s own environment. He cited doctors who move to regions outside the area where they studied medicine, as well as doctors who begin working in a new place and face senior doctors. The Health Ministry is now mapping the reports it receives to improve protection for doctors, especially young doctors and those assigned to other regions.
