Hasan Nasbi: Prabowo's 'londo ireng' aimed at provocateurs

The presidential adviser said the term was meant for a pessimistic group seen as stirring noise, not the wider public.

Special Presidential Adviser for Communications and Media Hasan Nasbi said the term “londo ireng” used by President Prabowo Subianto was not directed at the public at large. At the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta on Friday, Hasan said the term was aimed at some people viewed as preferring to create noise and seeing the nation’s life pessimistically. He said the remark was intended as a reminder for all elements of the nation to put unity first, rather than magnifying differences. According to Hasan, the public needs to strengthen solidarity and optimism about Indonesia’s future so the country can move faster. He also described the statement as a warning to reduce noise and increase unity.
