Plan Indonesia urges child protection to extend into digital spaces

Plan Indonesia said child protection in Indonesia must be built comprehensively from families, schools and communities to digital spaces ahead of Hari Anak Nasional 2026. Plan Indonesia Executive Director Dini Widiastusi said prevention should begin with nonviolent parenting, safe spaces for children to speak up, and early education on healthy relationships, gender equality, reproductive health, digital safety and anti-bullying measures. The group also highlighted the continuing risks faced by girls. Simfoni-PPA data for 2025 recorded 21,352 cases of violence against children, with 16,136 victims being girls. KPAI also recorded that 51,5 percent of violence victims were girls and 66,3 percent of perpetrators had not been identified.
