Habib Umar bin Hafiz meets Muhammadiyah in Jakarta
The Monday meeting aimed to open cross-institution Islamic cooperation, including support for the Palestinian people.
Ulama from Tarim, Yemen, Habib Umar bin Hafiz, visited the Pimpinan Pusat Muhammadiyah in Jakarta on Monday (12/10/2026) with a delegation from Majelis Muwasholah Ulama Muslimin. In the meeting, he urged stronger unity among Muslims and broader cooperation in service to religion and the community. Habib Umar also expressed appreciation for Muhammadiyah's welcome and said he hoped to visit the organization’s headquarters in Yogyakarta on a later occasion. The meeting was said to open opportunities for follow-up between Islamic institutions, from refining programs to financing and evaluation mechanisms. One area of cooperation highlighted was support for the Palestinian people.
