Gvardiol backs Maresca to lead Man City after Guardiola era

Josko Gvardiol said Enzo Maresca is the right person to lead Manchester City after Pep Guardiola ended his spell following a decade of trophies. The Croatia defender said a coaching change is not easy and the team needs time to adjust to Maresca's new ideas, style of play and tactics. The 46-year-old Italian coach signed a three-year contract and took charge of his first match when City faced Inter Milan in Hong Kong on Saturday. City drew 1-1 in normal time before losing 1-3 in the penalty shootout. Gvardiol also said the players have a duty to help Maresca and adapt as quickly as possible during the club's transition.
