Grab delays Punggol robotaxi fares, starts on-demand AV trial

Grab will begin testing an on-demand autonomous shuttle service in Singapore's Punggol district in the next few months, shifting from fixed loops to direct trips between existing pick-up and drop-off points. The broader commercial launch, originally expected around midyear, has been pushed to the fourth quarter of 2026. The Land Transport Authority said the change follows rider feedback that the current model does not offer enough convenience and flexibility. In a July survey of about 900 passengers, nearly 60% wanted more control over boarding and alighting points, while about 40% preferred more direct routes. Existing fixed-route rides will remain free as the pilot expands.
