Google signs $920 million-a-month AI compute deal with SpaceX

What's new: The contract runs through June 2029 for about 110,000 Nvidia GPUs, with Google able to walk away if capacity targets are missed.

Google has agreed to pay SpaceX about $920 million a month for AI compute capacity, giving the company access to roughly 110,000 Nvidia graphics processors in SpaceX data centers. The contract starts with reduced fees as capacity ramps up through September and then runs at the full monthly rate from October through June 2029. A filing said Google can terminate the deal immediately if SpaceX does not deliver the committed GPU capacity by Sept. 30, 2026, or accept less capacity at a lower fee after a one-month grace period. Google said the agreement is meant to cover surging demand for Gemini Enterprise. The deal adds to SpaceX's push to bolster its AI business ahead of a planned IPO next week.
