Golkar urges party elites to take clear stance on government
Golkar says criticism of the government is fair, but singles out PDIP as inconsistent and not sufficiently constructive.
Partai Golkar has urged political party elites to maintain political stability and take a clear position on President Prabowo Subianto's administration. DPP Partai Golkar chairman Mukhamad Misbakhun said criticism remains important in a democracy, but it must be delivered responsibly so it does not worsen tensions amid geopolitical and economic pressure. He said parties should not benefit when government programs win public praise, then distance themselves when problems emerge. Misbakhun also referred to PDI Perjuangan, saying it has the right to criticize the government, but should offer input that is more mature, proportional and constructive. He cited criticism of the Program Makan Bergizi Gratis, followed by law enforcement action.
