Ginting and Ubed withdraw from Macau Open 2026 with injuries, flu
Ginting is still recovering after a slip at the Australia Open, while Ubed has fever; Indonesia now has 12 entrants left.
PP PBSI has withdrawn Anthony Sinisuka Ginting and Moh. Zaki Ubaidillah from Macau Open 2026 because both are not in ideal health. Men’s singles head coach Indra Wijaya said Ginting is still recovering after slipping during a match at the Australia Open last week. Ubed was not sent because of flu accompanied by fever, leaving him unfit for a high-intensity match. The BWF World Tour Super 300 tournament will be held in Macau on 16-21 June. With the two players out, Indonesia now has 12 representatives. In men’s singles, Merah Putih will rely on Prahdiska Bagas Shujiwo, Muhamad Yusuf, and Richi Duta Richardo. PP PBSI said the coaching and medical teams will continue to monitor Ginting and Ubed before deciding their readiness for the next tournament.
