Germany President Frank-Walter Steinmeier is scheduled to make a one-day state visit to Indonesia on June 15. The main agenda is a meeting with President Prabowo Subianto in Jakarta to strengthen bilateral cooperation. During the trip, Steinmeier will also visit the Istiqlal Mosque and Jakarta Cathedral via the Terowongan Silaturahmi. Germany Ambassador to Indonesia Ralf Beste said the visit reflects Berlin’s effort to deepen ties with Indonesia as a major country in Southeast Asia. Steinmeier will be accompanied by a business delegation from the logistics, mobility and industrial equipment sectors, as well as representatives from culture and science and technology. He is also scheduled to discuss global geostrategic change with Indonesia’s intellectual and research community.
