Georgia father got 15 years for giving son gun used in school shooting

What's new: Judge Nicholas Primm rejected prosecutors' push for 80 years after Colt Gray got life without parole days earlier.

A Georgia judge sentenced Colin Gray to 15 years in prison after jurors convicted him over the Apalachee High School shooting carried out by his son, Colt Gray. Judge Nicholas Primm imposed concurrent terms for second-degree murder, involuntary manslaughter and other counts tied to the Sept. 4, 2024 attack in Winder, northeast of Atlanta. Two students, Mason Schermerhorn and Christian Angulo, and two teachers, Richard Aspinwall and Cristina Irimie, were killed; another teacher and eight students were wounded. Prosecutors argued Gray ignored repeated warning signs and gave his son the AR-style rifle used in the shooting as a Christmas gift.
