Garut kite festival draws participants from 12 countries
The July 29-Aug. 2 event at Tepas Papandayan is being used to promote Garut's tourism and culture.
Garut International Kite Festival (GIKF) 2026 at Agrowisata Tepas Papandayan in Kabupaten Garut, West Java, drew participants from several regions in Indonesia and 12 countries. The festival runs from July 29 to Aug. 2, 2026, with kite-flying activities set to enliven Garut's skies on Saturday, Aug. 1. Beyond a community showcase, the GIKF is being used as a platform to promote regional tourism and culture. The event is also aimed at strengthening the network of international kite communities present in Garut during the festival.
