Garda Prabowo files complaint against ex-UGM BEM chief Tiyo

Gerakan Rakyat Dukung dan Bela Prabowo, or Garda Prabowo, filed a complaint against former UGM BEM chief Tiyo Ardianto with Bareskrim Polri on Thursday (18/6) over alleged insults against President Prabowo Subianto. The public complaint was submitted by Daeng Lukman, head of the Garda Prabowo legal aid foundation. He said Tiyo's remarks had gone beyond criticism and amounted to a personal attack on the President. Garda Prabowo came with advocates Sunan Kalijaga and Ferdinand Hutahahean. Ferdinand also challenged Tiyo's statement comparing the President with animals and a separate claim that a tracking device had been installed on a car, which he called hoax. According to Garda Prabowo, it chose the complaint route because a direct report under the new Criminal Code must be filed by an interested party. Earlier, Tiyo was also reported by lawyer Firdaus Oiwobo to Polres Tangerang Selatan.
