Fox poll finds 54% say America’s best days are still ahead

What’s new: 53% say they are proud of the country today, while voters split sharply by party and age on whether the U.S. lives up to its founding ideals.

A Fox News national survey found voters generally upbeat as the United States approaches its 250th anniversary, with 54% saying the country’s best days are ahead and 45% saying they are in the past. The poll also found 53% are proud of the country today, down 5 points from last year but above levels recorded during the Biden years cited in the survey. On founding principles such as liberty, equality and self-reliance, voters were closely divided, with nearly half rating U.S. progress positively and a narrow majority giving it negative marks. Views broke sharply along partisan and generational lines, with Republicans and older voters far more positive than Democrats, independents and younger adults.
