Foden hat trick powers Manchester City to 5-1 win over AEK Athens
What's new: City rebounded from its loss to Paris Saint-Germain, with Erling Haaland staying on the bench.
Phil Foden scored three times as Manchester City beat AEK Athens 5-1 at the Etihad Stadium to revive its Champions League campaign. City, coming off a setback against Paris Saint-Germain in the group phase, controlled the match with little trouble. Elliot Anderson and Rayan Cherki also scored for the Premier League side, while Stavros Pilios got AEK's lone goal. Foden, who had recently struggled for minutes and form, moved between the wing and a central role and took his chances clinically. Manager Enzo Maresca heavily rotated his lineup, making eight changes, and left Erling Haaland on the bench throughout.
